DIY Burlap Monogrammed Koozies

Koozies seem to be all the craze for weddings nowadays!  And I'm not going to lie...I had them at my wedding. So we decided to have them at our brother's rehearsal dinner/welcome party too - I mean who wants their hand to get cold while drinking a beer.  Instead of buying more koozies we decided to recover some of the ones we already had - a girl can only have so many koozies.

This project was so easy and didn't take long at all to complete...but that might have to do with the fact that we had three people working on it - hehe.

Project idea from Strictly Homemade

Instructions:

Step 1: Cut out your burlap - make it one inch wider and one inch longer than your koozie

Step 2: Iron the edges of the burlap under so you have a clean line that won't fray

Step3: Align stencil in center of burlap and fill in with a sharpie

Step 4: Hot glue burlap to koozie

For all of you crafters out there that own a Silhouette - please don't laugh at us!  We have to make our stencils the old fashion way with paper and an exacto knife...frowny face.
Silhouette - if you're listening - we would be happy to take any extra Silhouette Cameos off of your hands!!!

The koozies turned out perfect and they were another way to personalize the party!!

Koozies are relatively cheap to make and purchase, and they do not have a long lifespan. Because most koozies are made with cheap materials, they tear very easily. You may decide to continue giving this item to business associates and employees who love them, but there is a high likelihood that this item will end up in the trash very quickly.

Yes, your are defintely right - koozies are cheap and people probably won't keep them. I have about a hundred from all of the weddings I've been to (including mine). That's exactly why we did not invest a ton of money in these koozies, we re-used old koozies and left over burlap. They were more of fun/personalized touch for the Welcome Party
