We are suckers for home decor! We love decorating our homes and helping others decorate their homes. We get inspiration from home decor stores, magazines, and actual homes. We love checking out friends' homes and seeing how they decorate them. But we really love getting inspiration from stranger's homes! They help give us a completely different design perspective and new ideas!

Home tours are a great way to check out homes in your area! We loving getting the chance to see the insides of all of the houses we walk by daily. And we're really lucky - we live in awesome neighborhoods with awesome homes.
Julia lives in Virginia Highlands which is a super cute walkable neighborhood in Atlanta. It's kind of inbetween Buckhead and Midtown if you're not too familiar with the area. Every December the Highlands has a home tour and this year Southern Color is lucky enough to go and so is one of our readers (we will be giving away a ticket at the end of this post).
Eight beautiful homes will be featured on this year’s tour each different in style and design, but all equally representative of the Neighborhood’s character. This year’s lineup includes a 1920’s Georgian Revival style home transformed for the modern world by award-winning architect Yong Pak, an impeccable craftsman home newly redesigned and fashioned by Reynolds Brown of Stan Topol & Associates, an expertly restored classic bungalow and a contemporary new build with a focus on modern art.
One of the best parts about this home tour is that local restaurants will provide food tastings at each of the Tour homes. These restaurants include local favorites, such as America Roadhouse, Atkins Park, DBA Barbeque , Fontaine’s, Highland Tap, Noche, The Fifth Group’s La Tavola and El Taco, Rosebud, Timone’s and Marlow’s Tavern. Yummo...these are some of my favorite restaurants in the Highlands.
