Happy Monday! Why do the weekends always fly by too quickly!
This past weekend was great - I celebrated my birthday with family and friends, I feel so lucky to have them in my life!
Here's a fun restaurant recap for your Monday:
The BF took me out for a surprise date night the other weekend! I love surprises to an extent, but I kept pestering him with questions like: what should I wear? dressy or casual? What type of food? Have we been before?

He was able to keep the restaurant a secret until about 2 hours before our reservation - I finally figured it out! Agave!! I was so excited! The BF took me here on our 3rd date :-) We had dinner at Agave, dessert a Two Urban Licks and dancing at Johnny's! It was the perfect date! I was excited we were finally going back, to where it all began, haha!
We had an 8:30pm reservation on Saturday night. We arrived a little early, thinking we could enjoy a cocktail at the bar. But luckily our table was ready! We were seated in the converted patio area in the back, only a few tables over from the place we sat last time!
To start I had a glass of Sauvignon Blanc ($8) and the BF had Dos Equis Amber, plus we snacked on the complimentary chips & salsa.
For dinner I had the special, sea bass with jalapeno mashed potatoes, asparagus, and a mango/watermelon/pineapple salsa - DELICIOUS!!
The BF had the Santa Fe Blue Corn Chicken Enchiladas.
The vibe at Agave is trendy and romantic. It's located in Cabbagetown, which I consider to be a transitional/up & coming area in Atlanta.
After dinner we headed over to Krog Bar for a cocktail. It's an intimate wine bar with a great patio. I had the Krog Cocktail: gin, grapefruit juice, St. Germain and rosewater ($10). The BF had bourbon and ginger.
Krog Bar is located outside of Kevin Rathbun's Restaurant in an industrial complex called StoneWorks. The setting is unique but I found it to be very intimate & romantic.
Lucky for us Kevin Rathbun is opening a new restaurant August 2012 in our neighborhood. It will be called KR SteakBar - the concept is an Italian wine bar with tapas. And we'll be able to walk to it - hooray!!
What is a fun date night you've been on lately?!
