Trip to Byron, NY

Last weekend the whole family (minus our brother) made a trip to Byron, NY.  Now you might be wondering – where is Byron? Near New York City??  Nope – it’s about an hours drive from Niagara Falls in between Buffalo and Rochester, NY!  My father grew up in Byron on my grandparents gorgeous farm.   The house he grew up in was built in the mid 1800’s and the barn was built in the early 1900’s.  After the loss of my sweet grandmother this spring, we have decided to sale the house and all the land, about 120 acres.  Anyone in the market for land in upstate NY??!?
The house and barn have tons of history and historic pieces – think old furniture, trunks brought over from Europe, pictures, jars, old stoves & tvs, tons of interesting things.  Unfortunately, the furniture was too big to bring back on the plane – but we did get some awesome mason jars and knick knacks from my grandpa’s shed.

Dollar Store Fall Wreath

I am so excited for Fall.  It is probably my favorite season of the year.  I love the weather, the food, football, and everything else Fall involves.

So, I decided our house needed a wreath to show everyone how much we love this time of year.  But I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a wreath since my taste/style is constantly changing which means I'll probably want something completely different next year.  So I went to my local dollar tree to get all of the supplies I needed to create my own wreath.

I bought a wicker wreath frame, 5 5feet long leaf  garlands, and four stick things with pumpkins on them.  All together my total was $8...what a steal!

Wicker Wreath

Step 1: Cut all of the leaves off of the garland

Step 2: Glue the leaves onto the wicker frame with a hot glue gun

Step 3: Stick in the pumpkin thingys into the wreath

Step 4: Hang and Enjoy

Nashville Food Trucks

I am absolutely obsessed with Food Trucks.  One of my favorite tv shows right now is "The Great Food Truck Race" on Food Network.  So when I stumbled across a parking lot full of food trucks last Friday I was ecstatic!

We got a grilled cheese fried green tomato sandwich with tater tots and an old fashion Coke for lunch.

Here are all of the Food Trucks that were there:
Mere Bulles (American Food Truck)

Just Like Nannie (Meat and Three Food Truck)

Grilled Cheeserie (Grilled Cheese Food Truck)

Overall, our first food truck experience was average.  The food was okay but nothing to write home about and we had to wait in line for 30 minutes just to order our food.  But I haven't given up on all Food Trucks yet.  I'm still excited to check out other ones!

Anyone have any recommendations for a good Food Truck in Nashville?

Friends and Family Visit

September has been a busy month so far!  We've had friends and family visit and haven't had time for any projects around the house.

My sister and her boyfriend visited during Labor Day.
We went to Whiskey Kitchen to cheer on the Dawgs!

Unfortunately, we lost :(

We ran a 5k Monday morning and finished it off with a Southern breakfast at Puckett's Grocery in Downtown Franklin.

This past weekend several of our college friends visited!

Here are a few things we did:

We started Friday night at the Pat Green concert.

Then ended the night at Lonnie's Karaoke Bar.

This weekend we are off to Batavia, NY to visit family!

Hope everyone is enjoying their fall as much as we are!
