DIY Reversible Dog Christmas Bandanna

Good morning!  I hope y'all are having a nice week!
Last night after the gym I did a little xmas shopping, it was nice to cross a few things off my list.  But I'm definitely not finished, that probably won't happen until next week - eek!  I've also been shopping for a Christmas Family.  My work "adopted" a few families in need this year and my immediate team and I are sending gifts to one of the families.  It's a family of 6, 1 boy and 3 girls.  I definitely feel out of the loop about children's toys, I had no clue what to get them.  Is Barbie still cool??

Anyways, here's a Christmas craft for your fur-baby!

My niece asked me to make her a Christmas bandanna so she could look cute & festive on our walks.  And I can't say "no" to this face ;)

I used her Gobble Jog bandanna as a template.  It measured to about 9 x 8 inches.

I wanted her's to be reversible, so I chose a Christmas tartan for one side and a red chevron for the other.

Cut the fabric about 1/2 an inch wider than the pattern.
We're essentially going to sew a pillow, but before doing that we need to finish the area for the collar to feed through.

Where the black arrows are pointing, fold over this edge and iron flat.  Sew with a basic seam.

Once this is done for both sides (tartan & chevron) pin the 2 fabrics together, wrong side facing out.

Sew along all sides except where the arrows are (above).

Now flip the bandanna right side facing out.

Iron along the edges to make a crisp flat edge.

Now we need to finish the collar part - sew a straight line from one side to the other.

The collar will feed through this area.

And there you go, a fun & festive Reversible Dog Christmas Bandanna!

Thanks for modeling your bandanna Lilly  :)

    1. Thanks! I think she really likes it - she can either be "trendy" dog or "traditional" dog ;)
