Chattanooga Weekend Review

Happy Friday everyone!

Thank you for all the blog LOVE lately!  We reached 100 likes on our facebook page.  We are so flattered that y'all read our blog posts and try out our crafts!  Thanks for all your support!

Last weekend I visited my friend in Chattanooga.  We arrived late on Friday night and Liz had dinner waiting for us: pasta with winter veggies and a cream cheese sauce (obviously from Pinterest).  And dessert was cinnamon bread pudding with a brown sugar glaze.  We all sipped on wine and filled up on good food and stayed up late chatting.

Our plans for Saturday included hiking, but we woke up to a winter wonderland instead!  It slowly started snowing but then the flurries kept getting bigger.  I loved it!  I haven't seen this much snow in a few years.  We took our time getting ready and enjoyed PJ's wedding cake coffee and king cake (in honor of Mardi Gras!).

Around noon we finally braved the snow and went out for brunch at The BlueGrass Grill.  This place is a Mom & Pop breakfast & lunch diner.  There is no hostess stand but you'll definitely have a wait.  They just use the honor system, so seat yourself when it's your turn.

I had the Lime Cilantro Tofu Hash served with a huge wheat biscuit.  The flavors were strong and delicious!  I attempted to eat everything on my plate but had to take 1/2 home with me.  Everyone else really enjoyed their food, I highly recommend Bluegrass Grill for a yummy breakfast!

Saturday afternoon we did a little antique shopping.  I'm always looking for pieces for our Guestroom Makeover and my friend Laura just built a house so she is looking for pieces to fill it.  After shopping we went back to Liz's to rest and catch up on some 90's movies: Now and Then, For Richer or Poorer, and Groundhog Day.

We had dinner reservations at The Meeting Place at 8:30pm.  So we arrived a little early and grabbed drinks at the upstairs bar.  I had the whiskey mule with a blood orange slice.

For dinner we decided to split a few of the small plates.  This included: fried goat cheese, mac & cheese, fried acorn squash, creamed kale, sweet potato chips & cheese dip, duck confit, shrimp & trout tostada.  Our absolute favorites were the creamed kale and duck confit!  We also split a bottle of sauvignon blanc and for dessert Lauren and I had a small glass of dessert wine.

After dinner we planned to stop by Pie Bar, but we showed up too late and they were closed.  This was very surprising considering their hours said "late night" and it was only 10pm when we got there!?!?

We moved on to The Honest Pint.  A typical bar with cheap drinks, pool tables, and PIN BALL!  I hadn't played pin ball in years, I was so excited! I played at least 4 games.

A favorite quote posted in the bar,
"There are no strangers here, only friends we have yet to meet."

The next morning we slept in a little late.  We might have pushed back our 11am reservation to 12:30pm- oops!  We had brunch at FoodWorks where they serve $1 mimosas!  I had the Asian Salad with chicken & peanuts, noodles & peppers, and bak choy.  It was so good!  I was in need of some veggies!

After brunch we did a little more antique shopping then hit the road.  It was such a fun weekend with some of my favorite ladies - thanks for having us Liz!!
