Pizza Casserole

It's Monday!  I actually got to work a little early this morning, thank you day light savings time!  Let's see how long that lasts ;)

So you know our love of pizza: hawaiian pizza, pizza calzone, pizza balls, restaurants.... here's another pizza to add to the list, Pizza Casserole!

I found this recipe on Pinterest several months ago and it is definitely a keeper!!  It is so DELICIOUS!  Plus it is very easy to make and change up depending on the ingredients in your fridge.

Ingredients:
1 lb Ground Italian Sausauge or one package of turkey pepperoni
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 green bell pepper
1 small onion
1 package of sliced mushrooms
2 pinches of crushed red pepper flakes
1/2 t dried italian seasoning
Dash of ground black pepper
1 jar of marinara sauce
1 container of Pillsbury pizza dough
1 1/2 c mozzarella cheese
1/2 c parmesan cheese

Step 1: Preheat oven to 375 degrees and spray a 9x13 dish with nonstick cooking spray.

Step 2: If using italian sausage - brown sausage in a large pan over medium heat.  Remove sausage when done.

Step 3: Chop vegetables and then sautee over medium heat in large pan (approximately 5-7 min)

Step 4: Add sausage, spices, spaghetti sause to large pan and mix well.  Remove from heat once it is heated through.

Step 5: Add a 1/3 of the sauce mixture to the bottom of the greased 9x13 dish

Step 6: Add 1/3 of the pepperoni on top of sauce mixture (if using sausage skip this step)

Step 7: Ad 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese and 1/3 of the parmesan cheese

Step 8: Add 1/2 of the pizza dough - pull apart pieces of the dough and arrange them evenly on top of the cheese

Step 9: Repeat process 2 more times but do not add the dough to the top of the dish (cheese will be the last ingredient)

Step 10: Bake for 23-28 minutes or until golden brown. Cut into squares and ENJOY!

  4. This is a unique recipe because I am tired of eating pizza every time. My kitchen is renovating right now, and I have some ideas for my kitchen because soon I am starting my cooking blog page as well. I am looking for some neon lights, I have my eye on one that is from All Neon Signs promo code, but not sure this type will look good in the background or not.
