Wine Bottle Candle Making

Woo hoo for Thursday!  It's almost the weekend!

Remember when I showed you how to break a wine bottle with nail polish remover?  Well this is the 2nd part to that project, turning the wine bottle into a pretty candle!

I used soy wax, vanilla scent, and wicks.

After cutting the wine bottle in half you will need to sand down the sharp edges.  Be very careful doing this step.  I used a heavy to light grit sandpaper.

Once your wine bottle is prepped, position the wick in the center of the candle.  I used a dowel to hold the wick in place.  Next melt your wax, either on the stovetop or in the microwave.  The wax melts very fast, so keep an eye on it.

Once the wax is melted mix in the vanilla scent (or scent of your choice).  I would suggest allowing the wax to cool off for a few minutes (5-10 mins).

Then pour the wax into your wine bottle.

Allow your candle to set for at least 24 hours.
The wax will go from clear to a white/milky color.

Enjoy!!

Does anyone know where I can find wine scented oils?
I've seen these candles for sale in boutiques and they're scented: pinot noir, chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, etc..  Thanks
